Be the change you want to see in the world.
(Mahatma Gandhi)

That’s it. This quote has been going around in my head all day, and I just had to get it out. And (as Forrest Gump would say) – that’s all I have to say about that.

P.S. written the following day…

I’ve figured out why this quote was in my head. Today is Inauguration Day, and a wave of optimism is surging through many of us. But one man alone cannot change the world. Not Superman, not Obama. We all have to play our part. We each and every one have to BE the change we want to see in the world.

  • Hey Roz! Blog looks pretty darn good for a Blogspot blog. Listening to your latest podcast episode.

I’ve been hearing a lot about President Obama sitting in front of my TV here in the midwest. I can really appreciate his message of responsibility, although I am anxious to see what he can do for the country now that he’s in office.

Re: podcast #43, on the subject of bringing two of things on your next row, perhaps consider a backup electric water maker! Also, I prefer hardcover books, looking forward to yours.

One question: when you’re back out on the water, will Leo be back on the show?

    Thanks, and all the best!

  • I’ve just read that only 3% of the top 100 blogs are on Blogger, while 27% are on WordPress. Hey ho! Soon my blogs will be on rozsavage.com – watch this space.

As to your other comments – I will have 2 backup feed pumps (the vulnerable bit) for the next stage of my row. And I’m glad you like hardcover books. Funny, I’d just always envisaged my first book as a hardcover, so I was really pleased that my dream is coming true.

As to your final question, Leo and I will be doing one podcast per week once I relaunch. I may well be doing a second podcast per week with a different network – probably British – stay tuned!

  • “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
Out of context it’s just another bumper-sticker slogan.

(I am the person I have been waiting for)

  • Here’s a quote you might like.

“And in the end, its not the years in your life that count, its the life in your years.”

  • Hey Roz, I’ve been thinking about your upcoming row adventure, and since I’m just a fan, and not a friend or family member, therefore not risking losing a relationship, I think I’ll gather up the courage share my humble opinion… Here it is…. I think this rowing adventure is a bad idea, and you shouldn’t do it. I have a lot of reasons I say this, too much to post in comment. Feel free to ignore my comment, if you’d like, but I just had to come out with it and tell you before you set out.

Ok, I’ll give you one reason. I don’t think it’s effective in helping save the ocean. That junk boat did a better job at getting the environmental message across. Basically, I don’t think you need to be the world’s savior. The world is going to cope with or without your putting yourself in harm’s way. Your job isn’t to save the oceans/world/environment.

There, I said it, I don’t intend to be mean or nasty, my intention is the opposite.
